Hello-
Just got sassed at by my mother for “not enough verbage” which is probably the opposite off truth but I will
Spew a bit right now to catch up. The last couple days in Chicago were awhirl as a was visiting with some really splendiferous people and they took up most of my attentions.
The short of it is. Chicago is beautiful, at least in August. I don’t think I’ve ever been some where so saturated in gorgeous architecture. The streets were
Clean, people were friendly, restaurants were awesome and the lake shore pulled it all up a few notches.
We laid low the first night as we had done a tremendous amount of driving that day. We relished our air mattress in Loriasas living room like a Relais Chateaux suite after a night of sleeping in the car and on the rocky earth with a beach towel wrapped around us.
The next day (yesterday) we walked all over Chicago and dined on deep dish pizzas from Uno pizza on Ohio and Wabash. ( Yogi of course came everywhere with us because he has been known to through tantrums that include door destruction when left in new environments). Chicagoians definitely struck me as a different breed than NYC or any other city for that matter. Not that Chi town is ethnically bland but compared to NYC it certainly has a more “Midwestern flavor”.
At the end of such a delicious day, Lorissa, Guillaume, Emily (another really wonderful friend from highschool) went to an out door concert of Slightly Stoopid and 311 in which we danced our little hearts out and enjoyed blissful moments of life.
As for today, well get to that tomorrow 😉
